GIT is ahead of SVN!

Git is the most popular DVCS right now. Google trends confirms that:

But the interesting fact is that Git is for the first time ahead of its grandpa Svn:

Though it's worrying that CVS is still alive, it should be dead ten years ago. Hopefully we can see a process of slow death, the end is inevitable:

As much as I would love to believe this, there are some very serious issues with your methodology. The main issue is that 'bazaar', 'cvs' and even 'git' and 'mercurial' also mean things that are not the VCS. If you look at the breakdowns, the vast majority of the 'Git' searches are from Turkey. I don't think this is because DVCS is huge there, but perhaps it is a common Turkish word? CVS is a pharmacy, I've even searched that one to find the website - it is certainly not more searched as a VCS than SVN is by now. Bazaar is a marketplace - most of the news items that seem to cause spikes there are bombings and such.

I would love to see trending on these topics, but Google Trends like this is not a good way to do it.
